I never did find a solution for this. I spent weeks and weeks back and forth with E-Mu support, who remained as unhelpful as ever. They continued to insist that there was no problem with their drivers, and that the problem was due to some software I was using - despite the fact that it would crash even if the ONLY software I was running was their PatchMix application!

Finally they suggested the solution was to reformat my PC and reinstall everything from scratch. This despite the fact that this WAS a fresh install on a freshly reformatted PC.

I gave up, and just live with the blue screens. I also let them know that this will be the last E-Mu product I purchase.
