Check out IMG Burn, by far the best burning ap I've ever seen. And free!

Nero is usually bundled with new computers (sometimes Roxio instead) and with new burners.

When you burn a cd there is either Wav or Aiff files on the disk, cda is just a marker to the data on the disk.

When you tell your cd burning program to burn as an audio cd (not data) it does this automatically.
