TPnTX is on a distinguished road
Default one man band

I play guitar, harmonica, a little keyboard and I can sing okay.

I understand midi basics but I'm not looking to compose music or use midi in a on stage setting.

I would just like some ideas on what I can do.

Heres what I have;

tascam 4 channel digital recorder.
4 channel mixer
electric guitar/amp
casio ctk-561
mic

Using the mixer I pipe everything into a reciever/home stereo.

Here is what I'm getting at

I enjoy downloading my favorite songs(midi) and copying them to the digital recorder. Then I'll nix most of the channels leaving only bass and drums. Sometimes other channels may sound okay enough leave but more often than not anything other than rhythm sounds too midi.

Doing this gives me the band I've always wanted. LOL which is pretty sad but Its fun.

I don't think my tascam is capable of changing the sound of any of the channels and it only has a input midi port.

I should probably play the midi from my pc but as it stands I don't have any software that will let my nix the channels.

I think what I need to do is get a pc app and a decent sound card that will play the rhythm section like I do now but also assign another channel to my casio since I can select so many different tones with it.

That would be like adding another member to my midi band.

I do get out some but this is just something fun for me to do with the limted spare time I have to play music.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
