Problem solved!
If you have this problem, and you are sure that everything is set up properly, call presonus and see if they will send you a new midi breakout cable. I bet mine was not the only faulty one out there.. and from talking to them it sounds like they have had this problem before. Glad it wasn't the entire unit!
