Then I play the project, and the pitch of the entire project has been modulated about 1.5 (150 cents) keys too high, and everything is COMPLTELY out of sync by a about +- 5 seconds (opposed to before, when only certain tracks were out of sync by less than 1 second.)

I'm thinking of reinstalling cubase at this point. Any idea what's going on?

Thanks!
No, you don't want to reinstall at this point. You're almost there. As I mentioned, Creative ASIO is what you want. If you do a google search, you'll find lots of people have encountered this error so you're definitely not alone.

The good news is you shouldn't have any problems with new projects/recordings set up the way you are now. But what about the old projects?

The error message when opening old projects is probably because of a sample rate mismatch. (If your old project was 44.1khz, and Cubase is set at 48khz, its going to playback improperly with symptoms like you described). The Audigy 2 is fixed at 48khz, and with the Creative ASIO driver loaded, Cubase is trying to play everything at 48khz.

It's possible that your previous ASIO driver allowed you to record at a different sample rate. Go to project -> project settings. Can you change the sample rate of the project? What is it currently set at?

If you can select a different sample rate, but you get the sample rate error message again when doing so, see here: Disabling onboard sound in the BIOS

If you can't select a different sample rate (it only shows 48khz), you can try this fix: Saving as a new project with new settings. Also here.
