Re: Halloween Contest Feedback Treat it like a real ballot. Genres set aside, musical tastes are TOO subjective. Remember, in actuality, only one song will win the BIG prize anyway. Why be able to vote for several songs? It simply tips the scales. So, with fairness in mind:
Submissions are posted... lets say for one to two weeks (of a campaign). Then there would be "Election Day." The polls will be open for 24 hours (perhaps 12:00am CST to 11:59pm CST same day). Everyone should have heard the songs by the time the song submission deadline has arrived.
Then members vote AND comment. Not on a scale from 1 to 5. One "vote"... a simple vote. And only one! One member, one vote. Therefore there would be no low balling OR highballing... a simple vote cast... tallied... and a winner is declared. Like a real Democracy.
A member can only vote for their favorite song (like a candidate in a real election)... on "Election Day." The song with the most comments/votes... wins. The five runners-up can easily be sorted out.
Just a suggestion.
