Question Cubase LE-Tascam US-144 Low playback volume

hiya, I am a noob. its ok. im not rude. just looking for some help. I searched the forums for a couple of hours in the cubase area but I could not find a solution to my simple *hopefully* problem...

So here it is...

I have my pc. very good one. A tascam US-144 (inputing output from a Yamaha mixer, do not know the exact model its powerful though and output to my recording unit is on full.) and Cubase LE.

I am able to record consistently no problems and really great recordings at that. The problem lies when I try to play the file again. During my recording since I record about 15 mics at once, some prucusion, about 9 vocals, and some other instruments I record at a slightly lower volume to give my self some room and to make sure nothing jumps the scale. whether or not this is normal practice I have no idea...:-/

After I go back and edit the files. I record all tracks and programs into one wav file so I can apply a universal normalize and amplify.

I have tried so many times to get the volume of the files to be louder when I play it in the car. I split tracks and put them on cds. I have to raise the Volume in the car to around 13 or 14 when professional recordings play at 7 or 8...

I dont think I have left anything out...

oh. ummm After recording the peaks are at full on each track so there is not "extra room" im stumped. please help!
