So do you have two soundcards? Soundblaster and E-MU are totally different companies, right?

This is almost always a sign that the routing of the inputs is not set correctly. If a soundcard/audio interface plays it should record too. Press F4 and make sure you have the correct inputs selected.
Also it COULD be an issue with the output of your mixer (unless you have a way to test that).
