Are there any interfaces that are prone to have problems with chipsets?
To my knowledge, 99% of all audio interfaces have some chipsets that completely wreck their functionality. My old Delta 1010s hated VIA chipsets.
Presonus Firestudio Chipset Problems and Hardware Compatibility Issues

It's always a rule to check your audio interface's requirements before building a computer. I searched for about 10 minutes before I purchased my Firestudio and couldn't find anything. I said "screw it" and made the jump. When it came in, it had hell with the chipset in my PCI Firewire card. Luckily, all I had to do was toss in a Firewire card with a Texas Instruments chipset and the problem was solved.

If I would have had the wrong chipset in my motherboard I would have had to send the Firestudio back or build a new computer.
