Depends on the singer and the song, for me, but I do like SM57's as a good go-to mic if nothing else is getting it for you. You can count on a decent sound with one in a lot of situations.
Blue Bluebird.
Blue Babybottle.
Rode M3. Have to watch it though on vox. It doesn't hide much of anything in my experience, which can be real good or real bad depending on the vocalist.
There are a LOT more I want to try out, so this is a cool idea.
For live situations, I'll agree on the SM58. Built like a tank, has a presence bump that helps vox stand out, and it has decent rejection for floor monitors.
