You guys do bring up some good points. The particular item in question (which I'm not going to name until I'm 1000% sure that this deal will go through) wouldn't be a ton of good to me. In fact, it's very similar to a product I already have.
Of course, I'm not shy about my political views. We aren't giving away food, clothing, or shelter (necessities). We are giving away a luxury. So, giving based on needs is a bit too far on the commie left for my tastes.
With that said, the fact that guys in my situation already own a relatively high end audio interface the motivation for entering the contest will appeal to people who don't have an audio interface or would like to upgrade to a larger mult-channel audio interface. That should naturally take care of the "need" element.
So, I'm looking for specific contest ideas like:
- Diamond In The Rough - The best song with not-so-good production
- Most improved mix - The mix that shows the most dramatic improvement in Bash This Recording
- Best Marketed Song - The song with the most plays wins
- Best sounding mix - The best sounding mix (we'll vote) takes all
- Biggest guitar sounds wins
- Best Mix Of Tracks I Post - I post tracks and we vote for whoever mixes them the best.
- Recording Book Theme Song - The person that submits the best Recording Review Book theme song wins
- Biggest Loud Mouth - The person that sends Recording Review the most new members wins
- Most Reviews - The person who reviews the most products wins
Those were just a few ideas off the top of my head.
