I'll have to post some sound clips for you when I get back. I'm got an intern now and that will things like this a lot easier to create.

I'd say that the SM7 is a lot "smoother" sounding. It's certainly not a condenser but compared to a 57 it seams to be a lot more "creamy" I guess. It's very sensitive to proximity just like a 57. Some singers really do sound great through it.

Listen to Thriller. That will give you an idea of what this mic is capable of.
