Default Advanced Linking Of Tracks?

I'm reading through the manual looking for a way to handle advanced "linking" of tracks in Cubase. A part of me says that they must have thought of this but I'm having difficulty finding the right keywords to search for in the manual.

For example, let's assume I'm recording a drum kit we want to play re-record verse #2. Let's assume I have 12 mics on the drums. I don't want to have to go in and cross fade each of the 12 tracks. I'd like to go in and edit just a single track and have my changes reflect on the other 11 tracks. Does this make sense?

Another example: I often only use one mic when dealing with electric guitars simply because it's annoying having to deal with two or more tracks in the heat of battle. If I didn't have to bother with individually adjust crossfade times and such, it would be way more covenient for me to record multiple sources.
