Re: Ben Taylor's Recording Of "I Will"
The parts that are exactly identical in both versions are the vocals and the drum rhythms. When Ben Taylor recorded this, Frank told me that when they submitted this version, that is, the version in the first attachment, to Bye Bye Love film director Sam Weisman, he said that the drums and vocals were just fine. However, the guitar melody had some chords that seemed "a bit too dark emotionally" for the film. Because the song was put in the end of the film at the spot when the credits are rolling, Sam wanted to end the film on a happy note, rather than a sad note. In the guitar line, Sam noticed, by carefully analyzing the recording, that there's a specific combination of chords in there, that sounds a little on the minor side. So, he asked Ben and Frank if they would go back into the studio to change it up a bit. Frank and Ben, along with Ben's Papa James, went back into the studio, and reworked the guitar line, Bassline, and Keyboard riff, replacing the "Minor" chords with major chords. Do you notice that difference in the arrangements? Also, do you notice a difference in the length of both versions? What would you say the quality is of each version? I know you said the first one is poor quality. What bitrate would you say it is, compared to that of the second version?
