Just wanted to add that I also picked this unit up and so far am very happy with it.

I replaced 2 PCI units (Madudio 1010 + a Delta 44).

Please note, USB 2.0 is faster than Firewire.

Also note the Tascam unit currently does not support chaining of any kind (something you can do with firewire units like the firepod). The Tascam site said it didn't have a driver for it yet, so that hopefully means they will in the future.

The price point can't be beat, stability seems "fine" and quality is going to be up to the user. Hopefully we'll hear more from other home studios about this gear.

Ryan, thanks for the tip on the drivers issue. I haven't had a problem yet but will write that down for reference.
