funny, thats exactly what i want to do on a permanent basis. since i started mixing stems outside the box, all my stuff has gotten a lot more fun to deal with, and intuitive to create. i've been building my analog rig for over a year now, but it's still nowhere near where i want it to be.
i get the whole mix sound good analog, and then record the 2 mix back to a stereo track in cubase alongside the original tracks. and then i export only that stereo track when burning an mp3 or cd or whatever.
analog compressors..... mmmm.
