Default DIY Quiet Running Computers

Hi Guys and Ladies,

This inquiry concerns quiet running computers :

I have read the diy computer info on this forum by searches and articles, as well as other internet searches. I understand that one should get the lowest db ( quietest available components available, especially fans ) that one can afford. But, there is one thing that I can not find addresed here regarding quietening of computers. It seems that some builders of music recording computers use Auralex Sheet Block 1/8" thick. It is claimed that this helps with computer generated noise reduction of general internal noise computer case vibrations. Since I've not seen it mentioned on this forum, I wonder if the Auralex treatment is marketing hype type bullshit or would it be worth the time and added expense to apply to the inside of a new aluminun case before a new build is started ??? Any enlightenment on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch gang,
Jim
