This reminds me a bit of the neil young mixing style from "Rockin in the free world" It is not in your face. The drums feel a little "squishy". You can hear everything and the elements are not fighting each other. It suits the raw edge of the tune. I can't decide if I really like that but it worked for Neil. I did feel like the song came through and the mix did not get in the way of it. It also doesn't feel like the mix accentuates the song either. The word that comes to mind is safe. Keep in mind I am on the extreme end of often getting in the way of songs I produce.(still working on that.)
