I'm glad you're still with it. I haven't yet lost my mind to the point of hating individual words, but I have reached the point of insanity that I hate entire phrases. They are mostly expressions that you hear on a daily basis. I think most of them are justifiable and not complete madness. "Hell or high water" is defintely one of those expressions that makes me want to crush a small family of squirrels with a gigantic rock. However, when people say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less" (the proper use of this commonly used phrase) I only want to put an small, injured pigeon out of its misery. The only times I ever feel like committing baby animal genocide is when someone uses the word "ditto". I don't think any other word in the English dictionary sums up completely unnecessary puke, misery, and uselessness as the word "ditto" does.
