So far (I've still only recorded 7 songs at this stage), I've used my amp on all my recordings. At first I used a SM57, but after a brief shootout I found I prefer the sound I'm getting from a dynamic mic that came with a drum mic set that I picked up on the cheap (made by Eagle, don't know the part numbers). So far I've gotten pretty good reviews, so I'm happy...
Of course, all my guitar parts are for punk songs with lots of distortion. I may be trying something a bit different soon for a radio contest here in Ireland (must get a move on if I've any chance of beating the deadline), so maybe I'll have to change tactics then... I'll keep ye posted
