I don't think anyone mentioned that you have to have digidesign hardware to run pro tools, so that is another limitation.
Coney123 has a good suggestion, Reaper is pretty much free and sounds like it will do all you need.
Reason won't record vocals, so its not for you.
I've never used it but cubase seems to be popular.
