cheers for the help guys, pretty much fully sorted my problem.
From reading aroud these boards it however looks like i know nothing and just have one small question (you wouldnt think i had a degree in music tech).
We didnt do a lot of recording at uni so am still fairly unwise about it all. I have amassed that i need to have a limiter and a compressor. I downloaded the Sonnox Oxford series and have recently aquired a cracked version of amplitube 2, i will buy these programmes if their good enough but cant justify the outlay on something i dont know.
When im recording now, do i put the limiter as an insert on before i record or after? Is it a process?
Also when i record and apply amplitube to the track it tends to crack and pop a lot, any common reason for this?
