The mpc and emu have to be running at the same sample rate.
Then you have to create a strip in patchmix that is for the S/Pdif input. Insert an ASIO send in it to go to cubase. In VSTconnections in cubase you have to create a input bus and set it to the sends you created in patchmix. That's how the signal gets to cubase.
Then create an audio track and set its input to the bus you created.
You should be able to record or monitor with the monitor button.
