You can take a sound right off your track and record it as a drum agog file. It will automatically make it line up and be in phase. As an example here is one way I use it. I will have a drummer play there line and then I have them hit each drum at different volume levels at the end of each track with 5 or so seconds between each one. Then I will select which hit/s I will use when I am mixing. I have replaced a snare with one I did for a different album. It is easy. There are a billion tips and tricks but this should get you started.
