your external hard drive has to be in read and write mode. you can make changes to your drives in pro tools. in the 'workspace'. it's under the window menu i believe. when you bring that up you should see the drives and columns with the letters 'A' for audio and 'V' for video. Make sure its in the right mode for what your trying to do. Maybe reboot pro tools andddd you should be good.
