Default Re: Efficiency in Logic

Hi.

My first post here...

1) When recording, use a lower buffer size(128or256). For mixing, a higher size or else... "Cpu or harddisk too slow" message...

2) While recording, never insert a plugin that induces latency on the output channel strip eg. AdaptiveLimiter.

3) Record audio and stream movies from/on separate drives.. I guess you already knew that.

To test your system, double click the system monitor display in the transport and hit play.

Situation: High track count when mixing.
When you have too many tracks playing, force some audio regions to load from hard disk to RAM by selecting the "FollowTempo" checkbox in the region parameter box.

Situation: CPU has too many plugins to process when mixing.
If you're using lots of software instruments and DSP plugins - esp guitar simulators, could use the freeze function. However, once you freeze a track, you can't make further edits to the regions or plugins unless you unfreeze the track/s.

Best wishes,
R.
