I have read about music mode but when I look into the sample editor I have no button that resembles the musical note as per the instruction manual.
All I really want is to take a recording that is 75bpm and import it so that it plays at 75bpm. Ideally fitting within the snapped bar sections so I can easily copy and paste to build a song.
I guess I can live with it if the samples do not match to the exact bar but I cannot have the samples resampled at a slower speed.
Any other ideas I could check?

If it sounds warbled perhaps your sample frequency is mismatched..Make sure your project is set to 44.1 kHz and see if that helps...
Also, try right clicking on the clip and select Advanced > Stretch to Project Tempo.
