Diminutive in size these little guys roar. The cabinets thwart diffraction and the imaging is world class. I never expected them to be so accurate, but one thing for sure is they don't lie. The bottom end is good to around an honest 50hz or so, but don't expect to get the open E on a bass guitar sounding live and in your face (remember that's 40hz). however they most certainly make up for it in the rest of the audible spectrum. The midrange is above reproach and about the best I've every heard. It can be trusted in the mix and mastering. So I DO consider these a reference speaker. Certainly much more so than ANY of the smaller monitors out there. If you're in a project studio or wish to have good reference monitors in a tight spot these would be a superb choice. The imaging alone is a real highlight. Nice wide soundstage.
